Twitter user @MavenofHonor asked people to list their brushes with greatness (i.e. encounters with celebrities), many responded with sightings at Wegmans:
Now, more than ever, we should share our most mundane celebrity encounters. For example, in 2002 I saw Diane Keaton in the Gap

I helped Sam Waterston pick out an orange at Wegmans. An old lady walked up to him and asked him, "Are you famous?"

He looked at me and asked, "Am I famous?"
I said, "I'd say so."
He turned back to the lady and said, "Well, if he said so then I must be." https://t.co/mYlTrYzEvA

IWell, at 2 am in the year of 2000, early November, Whoopi Goldberg walked by me at the Wegmans food store in Ithaca, NY. When I recognized her, I was trying to take a photo of her with my flip phone (year 2000 I said!), she walked up to me and said: “ You are incredibly rude”.

Turned a corner at Wegmans and almost ran my cart into @guyfieri. He was moseying around the seafood counter with his kids. I rolled by wondering if that's who I really saw, and why the hell he was in Rochester.

I ran into Mimi Kennedy in Wegmans in Henrietta, NY in the early 1980s at the natural food section and told her that I loved her new sitcom (The Two of Us) and she couldn’t have been sweeter and nicer.
