Wegmans has finally announced what I’ve been tweeting about for several days: Beginning Sunday, New York stores will be open from 6 a.m. to midnight.
I admit to mixed feelings. On the one hand, it’s a step toward normalcy. Deaths and diagnoses have been down in our region.
On the other, I worry about increased exposure for everyone – employees and customers.
And, yes, I hate wearing a mask.
At night, when the store is closed, I can easily socially distance. Most of us remove our masks during these hours.
I understand why workers (including police) want to avoid the discomfort. But if they’re around people, they just can’t.
