Attention, shoppers.
Some of you are bringing in stained, smelly paper bags for reuse. All to save a blessed 5 cents.
Really?
If you think you’re going to buy groceries at least twenty more times in your life, it’s worth buying a reuseable bag for 99 cents.
Redirect your moral outrage to another cause like climate change or voter registration. Grocery bags are a dead issue. In a week, by law, every retailer in New York State will drop plastic.
P.S. I wish I had thought of the above headline on my own. But credit has to go to Judith Miller on Twitter.
Bought my first nickel bag in decades. At Wegmans, of course. #PipingHotRotisserieChicken
